A Tightly Fitted Wardrobe
There’s tight tolerances, and then there’s tight tolerances. The client wanted the edges of the wardrobe carcase to be as close as possible to the sides of the alcove - it’s in a brand new loft extension in a Victorian terrace, and was as square an alcove a carpenter could hope for, so I designed it with a just few millimetres of clearance. It did fit - but barely. This made it a bugger to install, but it does look pretty.
It’s quite a deep alcove, so we decided to have shelves in the back of both wardrobes - good for storing things long-term behind the hanging clothes.
Two soft close drawers at the bottom round out the storage.
BUT DON’T JUST TAKE MY WORD FOR IT
"I really struggled to find a local carpenter that understood the aesthetic we wanted from our wardrobe, so I was very happy to discover we were just about in Seb's catchment area! Seb was very helpful and detail-oriented throughout the entire process, even offering advice and solutions to take advantage of some spare space we had at the back of the wardrobe."
