A Big Guest Bedroom Wardrobe + TV Unit

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - who does’t want a massive full-wall wardrobe? No one, that’s who. Yes, there’s more important things in life, but waking up every morning to find everything just so in your bedroom makes tackling life’s slings and arrows a tiny bit easier.

What magic lies within this laminate-faced wardrobe then? Well, there’s lots of hanging space for starters. A column of drawers is always a boon, and lots of adjustable-height shelves too. Top cupboards make the most of the room height, and are great for storing away out-of season bedding and whatnot. We’ve got a fun lay-back set of shelving on the left of the unit to hold ornaments and knick-knacks, and finally there’s a TV hidden behind a set of doors - more on those in a bit.

All the doors are push-to-open on this one. I’ve got such mixed feelings about P-T-O; on the one hand you get this incredibly clean look to the thing, on the other you have to actively click the doors shut. Different strokes, innit.

The naked ply shelves are set back to allow for the window here. I love the asymmetry it brings - there’s just that much more interest for the eye. In the same sort of way, the exposed edges of the carcasses break up the solid white panels, all of which make the space feel roomier.

Lots of lovely drawers here. Drawers are so, so useful in a wardrobe, but for fairly obvious reasons they do add to the cost of things. I’d always recommend having more than you think you’ll need - there’s nothing worse than an overloaded drawer.

Then we come to my favourite bit. The sliding pivot doors! They hide a television behind them, but neatly recess into the body of the wardrobe when the telly’s in use.
